What am I doing here?

Welcome to my blog.  I think this is going to be a personal blog for now, not really sure what I’m going to do here (do any of us?). 

1. I want to write about ideas; good ideas, bad ideas;
2. what I’m doing, what I see others doing.   
3. Things that inspire me and others. 
4. I want to discuss things with you, how you feel about what is happening in the world, what is happening in your part of the world. 
5. I do want to share some of my art and try and practice writing.
6. I want to discuss business, and craft, and singing and marriage.
7. I want to find out what I feel about social media vs irl marketing.
8. I want to connect!

I know that’s a lot of ‘I’s in those dot points.  Mainly because I am still working out the direction for this blog.  No doubt that will change as the blog matures.  Stay tuned!

A bit about me.

I am a homeschooling mother of three, and we live in Sydney Australia.  I am an introvert with a very dry sense of humor, some people, my kids, say no sense of humor!  This usually means, I don’t talk much so I come across as unfriendly.  But I do prefer to get to observe and get to know someone before I share my deepest darkest secrets with someone.

I sew, I read, I am trying to write.  I am also a bibliophile – my husband says hoarder, I say collector ( My Library Thing page not finished yet, I also procrastinate!).  I started a graphic design course last year and I am currently working part time, but am hoping to replace the income from that this year.  I also have several online businesses that I am working on concurrently.

My husband and I are planning on moving to NZ and setting up a permaculture lifestyle block somewhere near my family’s land in the Far North on the Hokianga Harbour.  I also love tiny houses and would love to live in one on the block, but I think we have too many family and extended family and friends to live in a tiny house.

Just as an fyi, the posts from the previous incarnation of this blog are still up here as well as at the sewing movement site.  The posts from here on out will be about what ever I feel like at the time of writing.

The Previous Lives of a Reincarnated Blog

This blog had a previous life as an online sewing store specializing in historical sewing patterns.  For anyone who was a previous customer of Dreaming the Details or if you are interested in historical sewing (among other patterns), the sewing patterns we previously stocked here are now at www.thesewingmovement.com.

Why did I transfer to another site?  Long story short;

• got busy;
• forgot to renew my domain name;
• someone snapped the domain up as soon as it became available;
• that someone used the domain as a fake Michael Kors site selling fake bags;
• site shut down by the internet police and dreaming the details domain locked;
• fast forward 3ish years, did a search and found that the domain was available and bought it back!

This is a gorgeous bush walk in the country my spirit belongs, New Zealand
